They'll tell you what can't be done, and why. Then do it. For this the young need discipline, dedication and determination and NCC teaches you all these three things through various camps and the latest in the massive setup was All India Thal Sanik Camp 2026 (AITSC)!
-The NCC cadets should know the following:

-The greater the obstacle, the more glory in overcoming it
-Convince your enemy that he will gain very little by attacking you; this will diminish his enthusiasm
-Well, if it can be thought, it can be done, a problem can be overcome!.
-Those who don't know how to suffer are the worst off. There are times when the only correct thing we can do is to bear out troubles until a better day
-It was so risky and so scary, and yet at the same time, so beautiful. Maybe the truth was, it shouldn't be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It's the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. When something's difficult to come by, you'll do that much more to make sure it's even harder -if not impossible- to lose!..
-The story at hand was:
-All India Thal Sainik Camp–2026 (AITSC) The camp was inaugurated by Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, DG NCC at DGNCC Camp on 01 Sep 2026. AITSC is one of the flagship events of the National Cadet Corps, bringing together 969 selected cadets from all 17 NCC State Directorates across India. Camp features a range of challenging competitions, including Obstacle Course, Shooting and Map Reading. For the first time, cadets from all three NCC Wings-Army, Navy and Air-are participating in the shooting competitions, reinforcing the spirit of integration and tri-services excellence. Preparing Young India to Lead a Stronger India!
-The National Cadet Corps (NCC) plays a pivotal role in shaping the youth of India into disciplined, patriotic, and responsible citizens, effectively preparing them to lead a stronger nation. As the largest uniformed youth organization in the world, the NCC serves as a powerful incubator for future leaders across various sectors, including the armed forces, public service, and corporate arenas.
-Core Pillars of NCC Leadership Training!
-Character and Discipline: The NCC instills a strong sense of duty, integrity, and organizational discipline through rigorous physical training, drills, and camp life.
-Secular Outlook and Unity: Bringing together youth from diverse states, cultures, and backgrounds, the NCC fosters national integration and a unified Indian identity.
-Ideals of Selfless Service: Cadets are deeply involved in community development, disaster relief, blood donation drives, and environmental conservation, teaching them to put the nation first.
-Adventure and Resilience: Activities like trekking, mountaineering, parasailing, and sailing build physical endurance, mental toughness, and risk-management skills.

-By equipping millions of young minds with problem-solving abilities and a robust work ethic, the NCC creates a steady pipeline of motivated individuals ready to contribute to India's social, economic, and security goals.
-Various camps run by NCC:
-Republic Day Camp (RDC):
-Before RDC all group headquarters have to face the IGC (Inter-Group Competition) NCC Republic Day Camp is the culmination of all NCC Training activities. RDC is held at Garrison Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt from 01 to 29 Jan. 1850 Selected NCC Cadets from 17 directorates attend the Camp.
-The Camp is inaugurated by the Vice President of India and culminates with Prime Minister’s Rally on 28 Jan. During the camp visit of Raksha Mantri, Cabinet Ministers, Chief Minister of Delhi, three Service Chiefs and various State Ministers/VIPs are also present.
- During the RDC, various competitions are conducted amongst the 17 NCC Directorates to decide the Champion Directorate for award of Prime Minister’s Banner. Competitions are keenly contested in various events such as National Integration Awareness presentation, Drill, Line & Flag Area, Cultural Programs i.e. (group song, group dance & ballet),
-Best Cadet of Senior Division (Boys) and Senior Wing (Girls) in each Service – Army, Navy & Air Discipline and Best Cadet Boys and Girls each from Junior Wing. Aero modelling and Ship modelling are also conducted during RDC.
-Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC)
-In C.A.T.C., the cadets are trained in basic skills of survival and emergencies. They are also taught certain skills pertaining specifically to their Wing for e.g., a Naval cadet is trained in boat-rowing, oaring, Semaphore, etc. Another activity in the camp is the “dogwatch” wherein two cadets are to stay on sentry duty for two hours at any time given time of the day.
-Those caught sleeping, especially during late night or early morning shifts, or otherwise missing from duty are severely reprimanded or penalized. Cadets are also introduced to weapons such as a .22 caliber rifle.
-National Integration Camp (NIC)
NIC is to propagate national integration among cadets and society. This camps are considering for SSLC and higher secondary course (+2) grace mark These camps are conducted on All India basis and help bridge the cultural gap among various States of India. In addition, there are six special NICs conducted at Leh, Nagrota (J&K), Chakabama (NER, Nagaland), Srinagar, Lakshadweep and Port Blair.
-Advance leadership course:
-Advanced leader ship camp is conducted in many places. in this camp the officers give cadets training for ssb screening and entrance.
-Army Attachment Camp:
These camps are conducted by the NCC in collaboration with Indian Army, as the willing cadets are attached to the specific regiments under going the training period of 10–15 days. In this camp, the cadets are trained by the instructors of the particular regiment, in the military tactics including day/night warfare & also get familiar with the weaponry.
-Hiking and Trekking Camp:
-They are full of adventure; Cadets who want to experience something adventurous must attend them. Create memories never forgotten.
-Thal Sainik Camp (TSC)
-The TSC is a 12 days camp conducted in Delhi every year in the late autumn, in which the cadets are selected from all 17 directorates (30+3 cadets from each directorate), by the selection procedure conducting 3 pre-TSC camps each of 10–12 days in a week interval. The selected cadets then are sent to the TSC to represent their respective directorates in the following competitions:
-Obstacle course – In which the obstacles includes 6-feet wall, zig-zag, double ditch, balancing, 3-feet bar, left bar, right bar, incline, etc. It is done after wearing full tactible gear with rifle.
-Firing – It consists of two types – Shooting (Grouping, Snap-shooting & Application) & Advance Firing (Standing, Kneeling & Lying positions). It is done with a standard .22 caliber rifle at the range of 25 meters & 50 meters.
-Map Reading – Which includes working with Prismatic Compass, service protector & a map. It is conducted in the day or at night for finding ‘North’, ‘Grid Positions’ & ‘Own Position’, with the help of landscapes at the unknown location in which cadets are dropped.
-Home Nursing – It consists of medical activities, as how to aid & heal a soldier in war.
-The directorates also get marks by the inspection of their respective accommodations, dressing and some extracurricular activities by the inspecting squad. Arranging the numbers, the winning directorate gets a cup with decorations from the Director General, NCC on the closing day of the TSC. Two concurrent TSCs are conducted at RD Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt every year. i.e. S D / JD boys and SW / JW girls. 640 Boy and 640 Girls cadets take part in this camps. But this year the numbers were more!
-Youth Exchange Programme
The aim of YEP is a country-to-country exchange of cadets belonging to NCC/equivalent Govt/Youth Organisations of friendly countries and participation in various activities and appreciation of each other’s socio-economic and cultural realities!
-The Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) is a prestigious 12-day national-level training and competition event held annually in New Delhi for Army Wing cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in India. This time the Airforce and Naval wings were also included!
Key Overview Participants: Around 1,500 to 1,600 boy and girl cadets from all 17 NCC directorates across India.
Location: Usually held at the Cariappa Parade Ground or DG NCC camp in Delhi Cantt.
-Selection Process: Cadets go through multiple rigorous local, unit, and inter-group pre-TSC selection camps over several weeks to qualify.
-Main Competitions Cadets compete against other directorates in core military and survival subjects:
-Weapon Firing: Tests grouping, snap-shooting, and application fire accuracy.
-Map Reading: Evaluates land navigation and topographical skills.
-Obstacle Training: Tests physical agility and endurance on specialized tactical courses.
-Judging Distance and Field Signals: Measures tactical observation and communication. Health and Hygiene: Tests knowledge of field sanitation, first aid, and medical care.

The pressure of adversity is the most powerful sustainer of accountability. It's as though everything you do is multiplied by 50 in order to surpass those with a head-start. I was never capable of slacking when at the threshold of failure
-The most important reason for your “no” is that you need your downtime so you won’t behave like a jerk because you’re depleted. And you don’t want to battle an appetite spiked by the stress of overcommitment. But that’s your secret; others don’t need that information. So just smile, say no, thank you, and keep moving. Some fish love to swim upstream. Some people love to overcome challenges…
-The Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) is a prestigious national-level training event for National Cadet Corps (NCC) Army Wing cadets in India, vital for building elite military skills, endurance, and leadership.

-The Tr-Services Angle:
-The "Tri-Services angle" to the All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC) represents a historic shift in the camp's format. Traditionally, the Thal Sainik Camp was exclusively tailored for Army Wing cadets to give them direct exposure to Army-specific tactical training.
-However, beginning with the All India Thal Sainik Camp 2026 (AITSC 2026), the Directorate General of the NCC officially integrated a tri-services dimension into the camp by opening the shooting competitions to all three wings—Army, Navy, and Air Force.
-Key Pillars of the Tri-Services Angle: Joint Services Integration: For the first time in the history of the TSC, the camp brings together selected cadets from all 17 NCC State Directorates representing the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings to compete on the same platform.
While the overall core curriculum of the camp remains grounded in Army training, the prestigious Snap and Advanced Shooting Competitions now feature active participation from Naval and Air wing cadets, fostering cross-wing excellence.
Promoting "Jointmanship": Mirroring the real-world Indian Armed Forces' push toward integration (like theater commands), this multi-wing inclusion builds a spirit of unity, collaboration, and esprit de corps among India's future military aspirants at an early stage.
-Traditional Army Focus of TSC (Still Maintained)Despite the new tri-services integration in firing, the rest of the 12-day camp curriculum continues to strictly test core Army ground-forces capabilities:
-Map Reading: Practical mastery of grid references, plotting coordinates, and using a prismatic compass. Judging Distance & Field Signals (JDFS): Estimating ground distance and using tactical military hand/field signals.
-Tent Pitching & Line Area: Fast-paced military camp setup and strict hygiene management.
-The Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) promotes national integration by bringing together over 1,500 youth cadets from all 17 National Cadet Corps (NCC) directorates representing every state and union territory in India.
-How the Camp Builds Unity Pan-India Representation: Cadets from diverse linguistic, cultural, and regional backgrounds live, train, and mess together in New Delhi, bridging regional gaps.
Shared Team Goals: Participants compete shoulder-to-shoulder in rigorous military disciplines like obstacle training, map reading, and firing, which replaces regional differences with a unified sense of camaraderie and esprit de corps.
-Collective Discipline and Values: Living under strict military routine instills a shared national identity, mutual respect, and patriotic fervor that transcends local or state boundaries.
Now this is for the NCC cadets both boys and girls! This probably will be the befitting end to the story!
