Constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh of the 192 Battalion, Border Security Force, made the supreme sacrifice on 15 September 2017 while performing Naka duty at mound NJ-575 of Border Out Post Chinaz in the Arnia sector of Jammu.
At around 12:25 a.m., during intense cross-border firing from the Pakistani side, Constable Singh was struck by a bullet in the left side of his abdomen. He was immediately provided first aid and evacuated, but despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College & Hospital, Jammu.
A native of Vidya Bhawan Narayanpur village in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, Brijendra Bahadur Singh was 32 years old. He served the nation with dedication on the Jammu frontier.
The Final Sacrifice
On 15 September 2017, Constable Brijendra Bahadur Singh laid down his life while defending the International Border during cross-border firing in the Arnia sector of Jammu.
For his bravery and gallant action along the Pakistan border, he was awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry posthumously.
