THE HONOUR POST

Constable Jagdev Singh of 50 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on 20 September 1990 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Service and Duty

Constable Jagdev Singh was serving with 50 Battalion CRPF, which was deployed in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. On 20 September 1990, a convoy of vehicles was detailed to proceed to Tangmarg in Baramulla district, where a company of the battalion was deployed.

The Final Operation

As the convoy proceeded towards Tangmarg, terrorists opened fire on the vehicles.

Constable Jagdev Singh was performing escort duties and, along with his comrades, retaliated against the attack. During the exchange of fire, he was seriously injured.

Despite his injuries, he had stood in the line of duty while protecting his comrades and the convoy.

The Supreme Sacrifice

Constable Jagdev Singh laid down his life in the line of duty on 20 September 1990.

He was 20 years old at the time of his martyrdom, having been born on 9 September 1970.

His courage and sacrifice will always be remembered.
