Constable Lekh Raj of 127 Battalion CRPF made the supreme sacrifice on 30 September 1994 while serving in Manipur during operations against insurgent activity.
CRPF records state that 127 Battalion was deployed in Manipur to contain unabated insurgent activity. On 30 September, insurgents attacked a patrol of the battalion.
The troops retaliated effectively and forced the insurgents to flee. During the encounter, Constable Lekh Raj, who was fighting from the front, received severe bullet injuries.
Despite his injuries, he continued fighting shoulder to shoulder with his fellow troopers. He later succumbed to his injuries and attained martyrdom.
CRPF records his Force Number as 921120967. He was born on 10 August 1970 and hailed from Nagla Abhayram, Post Office Bahnera, in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. His wife was Smt. Prahladi Devi.
His martyrdom continues to be recorded by the CRPF as an example of courage and devotion to duty.
