THE HONOUR POST

Constable Ram Nath Yadav of the 72nd Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, made the supreme sacrifice on 15 September 2006 during an operation against Maoists in Jharkhand.

The 72nd Battalion was conducting a special operation in the Tiscopy jungle area under Gomia Police Station, Bokaro district. After no contact was established with the Maoists, the troops began retreating and were ambushed with IED explosions followed by firing.

Ram Nath Yadav was caught in the ambush along with Head Constable/Driver Bhuwal Singh. Both fought back boldly against the attackers and made the supreme sacrifice while displaying selfless devotion to duty.

Born on 16 August 1976, Ram Nath Yadav was a native of Tigara village in Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. His force number was 031483761.

The Final Sacrifice

On 15 September 2006, Constable Ram Nath Yadav made the supreme sacrifice while fighting Maoists during the ambush in the Tiscopy jungle area of Gomia, Bokaro.

His courage under fire and devotion to duty remain part of the proud record of the Central Reserve Police Force.
