THE HONOUR POST

Constable Vijay Bahadur of the 1st Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on 15 September 1971 while serving in West Bengal during the campaign against the Naxalite menace.

On 15 September 1971, a fierce encounter broke out with Naxalites. Constable Vijay Bahadur fought valiantly during the encounter and made the supreme sacrifice.

Born on 9 March 1949, he was a native of Simruo village, Post Office Karhal, Mainpuri district, Uttar Pradesh. His service number was 70001048, and his next of kin was his wife, Smt. Maya Devi.

The Final Sacrifice

On 15 September 1971, Constable Vijay Bahadur stood his ground during a fierce encounter with Naxalites in West Bengal and laid down his life in the line of duty.

His courage and devotion to duty remain part of the proud record of the Central Reserve Police Force.
