Head Constable Desh Raj of the 179 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, made the supreme sacrifice on 29 September 2009 while responding to terrorist fire at Sopore Bus Stand in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.
He sustained severe injuries during the incident and later succumbed while being evacuated.
Born on 22 July 1964 at Mandsanour in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, Head Constable Desh Raj served the nation with dedication.
