Inspector Jahangir Akhtar of the Jammu and Kashmir Police was a Braveheart who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on 15 September 2001 in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, during the difficult years of terrorism in the region.
Serving as an Inspector in the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jahangir Akhtar carried out his responsibilities at a time when police personnel faced grave challenges while protecting the people and maintaining security.
His name remains part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police roll of honour, remembering the Bravehearts who gave their lives in the line of duty.
The Final Sacrifice
