Lance Naik Karnail Singh of 10 JAK Rifles made the supreme sacrifice on 30 September 2020 during heavy firing along the Line of Control in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir.
Karnail Singh hailed from Loha Khera village in Sangrur district of Punjab. He joined the Army in 2012 at the age of 20 and served with 10 JAK Rifles of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles Regiment.
On 30 September 2020, Pakistani troops opened fire and carried out mortar shelling in the Krishna Ghati sector. During the exchange of fire, Lance Naik Karnail Singh sustained severe injuries.
He was rushed for medical treatment but succumbed to his injuries and made the supreme sacrifice.
Lance Naik Karnail Singh is survived by his parents, wife and son.
