Constable (GD) Munavar Beg M of the 59 Battalion, Border Security Force, was deployed on operational duty along the Indo-Pak International Border in a severely COVID-19 affected area of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, during the global pandemic.

He developed symptoms of cough and cold and was evacuated to Government Medical College, Rajouri, for an RT-PCR test on 17 September 2020. He tested positive for COVID-19 on 21 September 2020 and was shifted to the COVID Care Centre at GMC Rajouri for further treatment.

While undergoing treatment, Constable (GD) Munavar Beg M succumbed to the infection at about 7:35 am on 29 September 2020.

His death came in the course of active deployment during the COVID-19 pandemic. He made the supreme sacrifice while serving the nation on duty in a challenging operational environment.
