Naik Tek Bahadur Chhetri of Assam Rifles made the supreme sacrifice on 29 September 1968 while confronting armed hostiles in the Mizo Hills.
His courage and devotion to duty were recognised with the award of the Kirti Chakra, posthumously.
Born on 11 November 1935 at Chandrakot in Gulmi, Nepal, Naik Tek Bahadur Chhetri remains remembered for his service and courage in the line of duty.
