Selection Grade Constable Ghulam Mohammad Malik was a Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice while performing his duty in Srinagar on 27 September 2006.
Malik was serving as a Personal Security Officer with a Sales Tax officer when he came under terrorist attack in the Bohri Kadal area of downtown Srinagar.
Contemporary reporting stated that he was shot at close range and sustained fatal injuries. He made the supreme sacrifice while carrying out his assigned duty.
His martyrdom was among the attacks on security personnel in Srinagar on 27 September 2006.
Ghulam Mohammad Malik's service and sacrifice remain part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police record of duty during a difficult period in the region.
