Selection Grade Constable Pradeep Singh Jamwal was serving with the Jammu and Kashmir Police when terrorists attacked Hiranagar Police Station in Kathua district on 26 September 2013.
The attackers launched the assault in the early hours of the morning, opening fire on the police personnel and attempting to storm the police station.
Pradeep Singh Jamwal was among the J&K Police personnel who confronted the attackers during the assault.
He made the supreme sacrifice while performing his duty and defending the police station against the terrorist attack.
Contemporary reporting identified him as a resident of Birpur and one of the four J&K Police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during the Hiranagar attack.
His martyrdom remains part of the record of the Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who stood their ground during the attack on Hiranagar Police Station.
