Sub-Inspector Abdul Khaliq of the Jammu and Kashmir Police made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on 13 September 1995 in Handwara, Kupwara. He served during a difficult period in Jammu and Kashmir, when police personnel carried the responsibility of protecting the people and maintaining security in the face of serious threats.
Wearing the uniform of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, SI Abdul Khaliq stood in the line of duty with courage and dedication. His service represented the commitment of police personnel who continued to perform their responsibilities despite the dangers surrounding them.
A Sacrifice Remembered
On 13 September 1995, SI Abdul Khaliq made the supreme sacrifice while serving in Handwara. His martyrdom became part of the proud legacy of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the long roll of honour of its personnel who gave their lives in the line of duty.
