Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM, presently serving as Vice Chief of the Air Staff, is set to become the 29th Chief of the Air Staff.
Air Marshal Dixit will assume the appointment in the rank of Air Chief Marshal on October 31, 2026, succeeding Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh upon completion of his tenure.
An Experimental Test Pilot and Qualified Flying Instructor, Air Marshal Dixit has more than 3,500 hours of flying experience. His career includes extensive experience in operational, training and strategic assignments within the Indian Air Force.
During his career, he has held several key appointments, including Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff and Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Central Air Command.
His appointment to the country's highest professional position in the Air Force comes after a career spanning several decades and involving a range of operational and strategic responsibilities.
The Indian Air Force's next Chief brings with him extensive experience in flying operations, command, training and higher defence management as he prepares to assume charge of the service.
