Constable K. S. Prakash of the 42nd Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, attained martyrdom on 13 October 2003 in Tripura while performing civil convoy escort duty.

A jeep carrying CRPF personnel was struck by an improvised explosive device planted by extremists of the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF). Following the explosion, the attackers opened heavy fire on the troops.

The personnel retaliated promptly, forcing the attackers to flee. Constable Prakash and two of his colleagues, Constable R. M. Perumal and Constable B. Sree Kumar, made the supreme sacrifice in the attack.

The incident took place while the personnel were undertaking an assigned security responsibility. Constable Prakash's sacrifice remains part of the record of the CRPF's service in an insurgency-affected area of Tripura.

The Honour Post pays tribute to Constable K. S. Prakash, honouring his service and supreme sacrifice.
