The supplied CRPF memorial account places the 38th Battalion in the Jampui Hills along the Tripura-Mizoram border, where personnel were tasked with maintaining law and order and countering extremist activities. On 30 October 1968, the camp came under attack from two directions. The personnel faced a heavily armed group and responded under intense fire.

Constable Yadav continued firing and reloading his weapon as the attack unfolded. He remained engaged until a rocket struck him, causing fatal injuries. His conduct during the encounter was recognised by the Force as an act of exceptional courage and devotion to duty.

In recognition of his gallantry, Constable Ram Nagina Yadav was awarded the Police Medal for Gallantry posthumously. The decoration stands as formal recognition of his courage in the face of grave danger and the sacrifice he made while serving with the 38th Battalion.

The Honour Post pays tribute to Constable Ram Nagina Yadav, remembering his courage and his supreme sacrifice. His name is honoured with respect, alongside the CRPF personnel whose bravery and devotion to duty have become part of the Force's history.
