Constable Trimohan Singh of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police made the supreme sacrifice on 29 October 2023 while performing his duties in the mountainous terrain of Uttarakhand. Belonging to Atarahat village in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh, he served with the 32nd Battalion of the ITBP.
Deployed in the Munsiyari–Milam region of Pithoragarh district, Constable Singh served in a challenging Himalayan environment. The remote terrain, steep slopes and difficult conditions make duties in this region demanding for personnel tasked with serving in India's high-altitude border areas.
According to contemporary reports, Constable Singh fell into a deep gorge while returning from duty in the Milam area on 29 October 2023. Despite the efforts to reach him, he could not be saved. His death was a painful loss for his family, colleagues and the force he served.
Behind the uniform was a son of Atarahat whose service took him far from home to the mountains of Uttarakhand. His supreme sacrifice brought grief to his family and village, while reminding the nation of the risks that personnel undertake while fulfilling their responsibilities in remote and difficult terrain.
The Honour Post pays tribute to Constable Trimohan Singh, remembering his dedication to duty and honouring his sacrifice. His name deserves to be remembered with dignity and gratitude, alongside the personnel who gave their lives while serving the nation.
