THE HONOUR POST

On that day, CRPF troops of 92 Battalion were deployed on a road opening patrol in the state. The patrol was tasked with securing the route and clearing obstacles along the area of operation.

As the road opening party was climbing a hill to clear the route, insurgents took advantage of the terrain and opened indiscriminate fire on the troops. The CRPF personnel immediately took positions and retaliated.

A fierce encounter followed. Despite the advantageous positions held by the insurgents, the CRPF personnel mounted a determined counter-attack, forcing the attackers to flee from the area.

During the counter-attack, Constable Virendra Pratap Yadav charged towards the insurgents and received severe injuries. Despite his injuries, he continued fighting from the front before making the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
