Head Constable Bikram Singh of the Jammu and Kashmir Police made the supreme sacrifice on 17 October 2006 after terrorists opened fire on him in Batmaloo, Srinagar.

At the time, Bikram Singh was serving as a driver with the Police Control Room and was associated with the official vehicle of the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir.

On the afternoon of 17 October 2006, he was near his vehicle in the Batmaloo area when terrorists shot him at close range. He was rushed to SMHS Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Contemporary reports placed the incident near the General Bus Stand and the Punjab National Bank area of Batmaloo.

His martyrdom was part of a series of attacks targeting police personnel in Srinagar during that period. Despite the dangers associated with their responsibilities, police personnel continued to perform duties essential to public safety and security.

Bikram Singh's sacrifice remains a reminder of the risks faced by Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel while serving in a challenging security environment.

The Honour Post pays tribute to Head Constable Bikram Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice on 17 October 2006 in Batmaloo, Srinagar. We honour his service and remember his sacrifice with respect and gratitude.
