Ratneswar Moran was a member of the Sashastra Seema Bal who made the supreme sacrifice on 1 October 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He was serving with the Sashastra Seema Bal when he contracted COVID-19 while performing his duties. His condition subsequently deteriorated and he was admitted for treatment.
Ratneswar Moran was undergoing treatment at a COVID Care Centre in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. Despite medical care, he succumbed to the infection on 1 October 2020.
The official Bharat Ke Veer memorial records 1 October 2020 as the date of his martyrdom and identifies the COVID Care Centre at Namsai as the place where he made the supreme sacrifice.
His sacrifice came during a period when personnel of India's uniformed services continued to perform their duties while also facing the risks posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ratneswar Moran's name is preserved among the personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal remembered for making the supreme sacrifice during the pandemic.
