While the convoy was moving in Chandigarh, terrorists attacked the convoy. At the same time, a bomb was exploded, creating a dangerous situation for the personnel performing the escort duty.
Sub-Inspector Ram Swarup Singh sustained severe injuries during the attack. Despite the circumstances, he remained committed to his duty until he made the supreme sacrifice.
His sacrifice came while he was performing an important protective responsibility, safeguarding a public representative in a period of intense security challenges in Punjab.
