Head Constable Mohd Moiz, 133 BN CRPF
On 1 November 1997, the 133rd Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force was deployed in Senapati district, Manipur, for anti-insurgency operations. During an operation in the area, the troops came under a fierce ambush by insurgents positioned behind fortified positions.
Despite the difficult terrain and the intensity of the attack, the CRPF personnel launched a determined counterattack. They advanced against the attackers, maintaining their resolve under heavy fire. The ensuing gunfight resulted in injuries among the troops, but the personnel continued their efforts and eventually forced the insurgents to retreat with their wounded.
Although the injured personnel were evacuated, ten bravehearts of the battalion succumbed to their injuries. Head Constable Mohd Moiz was among those who made the supreme sacrifice on 1 November 1997.
The Honour Post pays tribute to Head Constable Mohd Moiz of 133 BN CRPF. His service and sacrifice in Manipur remain part of the force’s enduring record of courage and commitment.
