Ministry of Defence Annual Report 2005–06. The report records the gallantry awards announced on Republic Day 2005 and Independence Day 2005 separately.

Republic Day 2005:
2 Kirti Chakras, 8 Shaurya Chakras, 2 Bar to Sena/Nao Sena/Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry), and 112 Sena/Nao Sena/Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry). The report records 1, 4 and 26 posthumous awards respectively.

Independence Day 2005:
1 Kirti Chakra, 19 Shaurya Chakras, 5 Bars to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 86 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 5 Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), and 12 Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry). The report records 8 posthumous Kirti/Shaurya awards in the combined Chakra-series presentation table as published.
