Independence Day 2011
The 2011 Independence Day announcement recorded 14 Shaurya Chakras, 3 Bars to Sena Medal (Gallantry), 114 Sena Medals (Gallantry), 3 Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry) and 3 Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry), for a total of 137 gallantry awards.

Historical presentation clarification:
The Ashoka Chakra awarded to Major Laishram Jyotin Singh was announced on Independence Day 2010 and presented by the President at the Republic Day 2011 ceremony. It is therefore not counted again as a 2011 award.
